The IWAO GINKAI (Silver Gray) model builds upon the reliability of a field watch while enveloping it in the serene glow of a refined silver dial. At its center lies a boldly executed “rock surface” texture, capturing the raw presence and dimensionality of natural stone. This sculpted expression gives the dial a depth that feels almost tangible, forming a world in which ruggedness and tranquility coexist. The dial layout alternates Arabic numerals with diamond-cut bar indexes, each reflecting light with sharp precision. The interplay between their brilliance and the textured surface heightens the tension and clarity of the entire dial. Positioned at 12 o’clock, the arched logo plate integrates seamlessly into the architecture of the design, grounding the composition with a distinct visual presence.

A sloped minute track encircles the dial, guiding the eye naturally toward the center. Paired with an ultra-low rehaut, it creates an unusually clear visual effect, making the sapphire crystal appear remarkably close to the dial. A thin polished ring placed between the flat dial and the sloped ring adds a subtle shimmer, enriching the quiet world of silver gray with a refined touch.

The seconds hand is heat-blued, allowing a deep blue tone to settle gently against the calm silver background—an understated yet striking accent. The tip of the seconds hand, which carries luminous material, is shaped after the great roof of Asakusa’s Kaminarimon gate, a symbolic tribute to the brand’s birthplace. The slim baton hour and minute hands are filled with luminous material that emits a vivid blue glow in darkness, as does the inverted-triangle marker at 12 o’clock, ensuring clear orientation even in low-light conditions.

Sized at 38mm in diameter, 9.5mm in thickness, and 46mm lug-to-lug, the case offers an ideal balance of versatility and refinement.
